My Story

I am a trauma-informed life, health, and business coach, writer, and podcaster. I help people transform themselves and their lives from the inside out.

Raised in New York City, in a home riddled with addiction, fear, and unpredictability, I grew an inner resourcefulness and resilience that helped me transcend various struggles in life from addiction, abuse, chronic illness, and trauma to entrepreneurship, wealth creation, marriage, and whole family recovery.

After fighting my own struggles with addiction, from the age of eighteen, I was committed to two things– my acting career, and living a life fully committed to personal growth and healing with the intent of helping others.

Lyme Disease

In 2013, life surprised me with a Lyme disease diagnosis after I got bit by a tick on a photo shoot in Los Angeles. After three harrowing years of darkness– suicidal depression, physical suffering, poverty– I got well with the help of my community by becoming my own primary caretaker and fierce self-advocate.

The experience of healing from complicated chronic illness deepened my love and compassion for all humans and their personal struggles. I was freshly determined to thrive and serve in life.

Coaching

In 2016, I  launched my  coaching practice  after about a year of hearing from family and friends about their own health struggles and how baffled they were about how to heal. In the same year, I started writing a blog that I  hoped would find people who needed it and, in 2017, launched my podcast, “Healing Out Loud.”

Quickly, I realized that I enjoyed running my coaching business more than anything else I was doing and decided to expand in 2018. From then to now, my business grew to serve people in various ways that I am passionate about and have my own experiences and success with – healing from addiction, trauma recovery, successful romantic relationships, money creation, entrepreneurship, balance, spiritual growth, and health. I have coached incredible artists, leaders, coaches, and humans from many different walks of life – humans ready to commit to changing their lives for their own sake and the sake of all of humanity and the planet.

I pull from many different principles and modalities in my coaching, including inner-child work, 12-step recovery, spiritual psychology, somatic experiencing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and the works of Byron Katie, Steve Chandler, and Kristin Neff, and my own personal stories, learnings and experiences.

I am a lover of the ancient Japanese practice called Kintsugi—in this practice, broken objects are repaired with gold dust, embracing imperfections and flaws.

I believe that this kind of repair and beauty where the broken parts are healed and sparkly  is inside and available to every person, and that with the right support, encouragement, and inner commitment, wellbeing, fulfillment, and true freedom exists for every single one of us.

Giving Back

Giving to causes that I believe in is a top value of mine. I remain inspired to grow in all areas of my life when I remember that the more I have in joy, health, wealth, and abundance, the more I can share with others. My dream is to see all of our systems– from prison to education to medicine– run from a trauma-informed place. If you work with me, know that I support these organizations:

Inside Circle

Prison is a great example of a solution being worse than a problem. Inside Circle helps system impacted people heal from within in order to lead meaningful lives of service and love in their communities and beyond. Inside Circle focuses on both those who are currently incarcerated and on outside communities that are most vulnerable to coping with their circumstances by engaging in activities that could lead to incarceration. The Inside Circle’s results are marked by lowered recidivism rates (0% return to prison within three years), and significantly lowered instances and drives toward any form of violence. Campaign for Trauma-Informed Policy and Practice

CTIPP’s mission is to create a trauma-informed society by advocating for policies and programs at many levels– federal, state, local, and beyond– that utilize the scientific findings of the impact of trauma on the individual, the family, and the whole society.
